Default Prop ?

1984 34 foot scarab, twin 454 (440) appx weight 10-12000, half a tank of fuel (roughly 700 lbs) trs drives, borg warner tranny.................what is the prop size that should be on this boat. Or what is recommended, any input appreciated.

Also anyone know what WOT is ? I stomp it down and it doesn't go over 4000 rpm.

Thanks in advanced.

We need some more info sir. Did you contact the previous owner and ask what the max RPM was when he had it ? They must have had the 23 Mirage on there for a reason (that size sounds about right). You are trimming the drives while running right ? When was the last time the motors had a complete tune-up ? How many hours on the motors ? I hope your not looking for big speed. Thats a heavy boat, with basically weak motors. I dont know how long youve been boating...but picking up 1-3 mph is huge. Its not like your gonna change props and go 12 mph faster. I'm telling you this so you dont get dissapointed sir.

I realized how big and heavy this boat was when I weighed it with the trailer, and then just the trailer. It is a good cruiser, I shouldnt complain until I get all the gauge's replaced so I know that everything is working correctly. I got 53-54 out on the lake yesterday GPS @ 4100rpm....i guess that is ok

Your engines should run between 4800-5200 rpm.
