Default Scarab 26 Prop Advice

Does this sound like I am running an incorrect prop?

I've got a 1996 Scarab 26' with a 454 that I thought would be faster than it is. I should top out faster than 38mph right??

I can't recall the prop diameter however the pitch is 19 and is three bladded. Advice? What are other 26' 454 single engine unmodded owners seeing speed wise?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks fastscarab. A 24mph gain by going to that prop? That sounds almost too good to be true, my prop must be REALLY ill fitted for my boat.

I have a few 21 pitch props, including a 21 mirage plus if you want to try it out, we have been hanging around just inside the Boynton inlet lately at a sandbar real close to a good spot to prop test. We'll probably be back out in the next few weeks, if we are out I'll put it on the boat, just stop by and we will mount it up on yours and go for a spin. Were you turning 4600 when you ran 38MPH?

Are you getting this speed from A GPS? If you are looking at the Speed Ometer you may be having a problem with it.
