Default 22' speed runs

Made some speed passed with my boat today, and with the non-mag 454, with a Bravo I, Imco Thumper Exhaust, 23 Mirage+, MSD Ignition, Holley Carb I ran 62 at 4600rpm with quarter tank of gas and just me.

Anybody else running similar setups? Does anyone have a 21 Mirage+? Do you think I'll pick up a few by sizing down?

Thanks

I have a 21 Mirage plus that I would sell, not sure it is the right prop for you though. Had a friend with a similar setup, and it seems that the best prop is somewhere between the 21 and the 23.

Do you remember if he was running the 21 or 23? I might try to find one to try first, but what do you want for your 21?

He kept switching from 21 to 23, can't remeber which one was faster, but he liked one for speed, the other for handling, one of his may have been a 4 blade, it was a few years, and many beers ago. I would take $300 plus shipping for the 21 mirage plus.

Man, I love the look of your boat, any other pics you can post up? Are your vent covers custom?

I've got a stock 350 mag and I'm spinning a 21 Mirage (Non+) at 4800. I think the + is a little steeper, so it might be a good choice for you.

Yea, my father created those in fiberglass, painted to match the boat. Took some time and alot of work, but really happy with the end result. They have scoops built in to force more air in the engine compartment.

Thanks rchevelle. Im going to see if I can located one to try first...

Do you know what a rev limiter is , a stock 330 is set to 4850, A differnt blade will not make that much of a differnce , A 23 mirage plus is a good blade , a 25 might get a little more but harder to get on plane BEEN THERE DONE THAT have fun

I have a 1998 stock carb'd 454 with a 25p Mirage. I'm only turning around 4,500 RPM, trimmed up, and my max speed is 58. This is with a quarter tank of gas and only me. Thinking about ditching the anchor and the cooler plus run the fuel down to get a true top speed. I hope to put a 23p on this weekend to get my RPMs up. I should be in the 60's is how I feel about it.

I have a 97 22 with a 454/b1 combo. Run a 25p 3 blade turbo. Full of fuel I run 66 on gps in fresh water. On salt I run right at 70.
