The rockers will not be a problem with the computer but you won't see much hp gain, IMO.

My own build of a 525SC w/ edlebrock heads and more compression than a Merc. Running a roller cam and rockers with a 950 Pro systems carb and cmi headers. Running a 26 Bravo one, 74 GPS when things are perfect. Can hit 72 all the time. When I bought it it had a 23 M+ and approx 400-450 hp and ran 65.

Thanks for the response! The rockers are just setting on the shelf so thats why I ask, and a easy change! It also has emi thunder exhaust with risers

Q. Has yours always been a carb or did you change it? Just woundering the benefits of changing to carb I have a supper Vic. Intake with 1050 dominator! But not sure on the longevity of it! And resale!

I've been doing a check list on everything and come to find out when the last owner did the freshin up (I bought it with a fresh motor and he just said he rebuilt it!) they bored it and a master rebuild kit in the motor! So it's a 509 ci which is good to me! What other upgrades with out pulling the motor and still good for later resale?

If you have long risers on the EMI manifolds get a 731 or 741 Crane style roller cam and your big block will wake up a bit. You can also contact RM Builder on here and see what he recommends for a cam. If you plan to keep it a while and know how to tune a carb put a good single plane intake under the dominator when you upgrade the cam. Just my .02 worth. I do think for the average boater the fuel injection has better resale though.

Mine originally came with a 502, when I bought it, it had an HP450 style built 454. I ran it for a season and pulled it, I redid it last winter bored to a 468 with 8.75 compression. Put on better heads and the little blower. I kept the Crane cam that was in the engine it's similar a 500EFI cam but has the firing order swap. Idles great and starts real quick, I am really happy with the way it turned out. Last year I ran it with 5 PSI of boost, I have a smaller pulley I might try this year.

Sweat sounds like you got yours where you want it! Gotta lov'em when there the way you like it!

Yeah I've drag raced my whole life I'm preaty good with a carb but don't know squat about fuel inj. So I'm in lost territory! I also have tons of parts lying around I have a Crain r274 7/4 cam swap lying around think its about 710 not sure if it will work! All in all I just didn't want to go to radical! It is also used as a family boat so want it reliable! But all it can be! Lmao!

I have a 525sc gen 6 upgrade motor in that boat with edelbrock alum head, roller camshaft custum grind by Bob Madara b&m 250 blower at 10 psi boost with water methanol injection and i did 80 mph in good condition 78mph all the time
with bravo 1 prop 26 lab at 5700-5800 rpm.

That boat love 4 blade prop especialy with single engine version. This summer i want to try a rev 4 prop, i hope that prop can help a litle on top speed.

The rev 4 might work better than the bravo because the rev 4 is supposed to give more bow lift. These boats need bow lift to run, the bravo works way better than the mirage plus.

Does the 4 blades work the same as the 3 blades as far as if I want to run 5000-5100 I need a 21 three blade to turn that but if I want a 4 blade and turn 5000 what will I need 21-22??

As long as I can turn at least 48-4900 I think ill be good! Just don't want to loose a lot on the big end!

If your prop is Mirage Plus the Rev 4 prop 21p should be turn almost the same rpm. If you look to a Bravo 1 prop you will need to get a 20p to turn at same rpm but the smallest pitch for Bravo 1 prop is 22p.

The Mirage Plus vs Mirage prop lower your rpm about 200-300rpm.
