Default scarab II with surface drives

OK so today I came across an 1983 scarab III with surface drives. I the guy said it was a factory option and only 4 were made that year. Does anyone know anything about this or have heard of this before? I'm assuming the motors were originally 420's they have a few other mods on them now but have holly carbs and a dual plan intakes still.

I have seen a couple '80s Scarabs with Kaama surface drives on them. I believe they were an option. Some '80s Formulas also came with this option. So I don't believe he is BS'ing you.

There was a Scarab II for sale on here a couple of years ago that had Kamma surface drives. It had purple drives on it. There was also a Blue 38' Scarab from the early 80's on here a couple of years ago that had surface drives on it to. Yes a very rare option, especially on a Scarab III. Faster than a normal outdrive.

The boat has arnesons on it. I also found out that the motors were just 330s new and not the 420s. Its defiantly a cool boat and is suppose to run mid-hi 70s.

I highly doubt mid 70's with that power.

I don't know what it would do with surface drives but I believe that hull with trs and 330's is about 60 mph.

The Motors Have Been Modified Pretty Heavily. I Know My III Will Only Run Mid 50s With The 365Hp Motors. So For Mid 70S They Need To Be over 500Hp.

I don't think turbines will get that big heavy sucker to the mid 70's. lol. My Scarab had surface drives and they were bullet proof, but I've only heard of them coming with kaamas.
