Miami Vice 38KV colors/paint codes NEEDED ASAP!
My boat is down at Victory Marine for some partial resto work and we need the actual paint code numbers that Wellcraft painted the boats in 1987.
Does anyone have this info anymore? Wellcraft does not have them anymore and I want to be exact!
Anyone?????

Can't you paint match it?

If you're just painting part of the boat, then the right way is getting a good painter to match the color. It would be good to have the original formula to start with, but that would a be a "start", then the painter would have to tint the color to get it closer. Now if you're painting the whole boat, and don't have the original color showing, that's different.

All you need to do is take the boat to any automotive paint store and they have a camera that takes a picture and a computer tells you the paint code. Almost any large body shop also has these cameras. Do it all the time in my shop. Jeff wurl

When I replied to this in '14, I didn't know 6 years later I'd be needing all these codes myself. Jetjock, did you get this off the facebook page? Did it come from the shop in new york that restored star1 years ago? This is what I plan to go with but want to do a little more research before I pull the trigger. Thanks.
