Default 89 scarab excel 38

I need some advise. I'm looking at purchasing an 89 scarab excel 38' this boat has no motors and has been sitting since 2007. The outdrives were new in 2005 bravo XR. Interior and gauges new in 07 aswell. It has a bad automotive paint job on it. The trailer is all steel and basically no good. Not sure how good the interior is now it has been under a cockpit cover the whole time. What would u pay for it and what should I look for other than usual rot? Thank you

survey, survey,survey...
my guess is a boat like this in running condition would be between 25 and 35 k
depending on what kind of engines and price you want to spend (used 502 for... 7500 each or blue engines for 10 k each) plus 5 k for a trailer
so that's between ... 15 to 25k to spend, plus your boat paint... i would not pay more than 10 to 15 k max max!

but that's just my opinion!

Thanks for the input. I was on the boat before he parked it. At that time it has 496h.o. Motors in it. Ran good but it was creaking and squeaking in the ocean when hitting waves. What kind of speed could I seek with some 555c.i. Motors making 750-800hp I was told the x has been raised aswell

I'll have it surveyed before I buy it. Not going to take any chances.

yes ,, i agree..GET A SURVEY..make sure person doing it is good. guy that did my scarab missed alot. ended up spending 5 k on bottom.
now my 89 has trs drives,,did someone upgrade to the bravo's???
the one thing i dont like about my 89 is ,,tight engine compartment,,and the single engine hatch. i would perfer the barn door style that was on 86 scarabIII.
i cant even work on these motor,,so i completely remove the hatch.
