My boat was purchased with no existing shocks, all ball socket attachments are intact, however the two mounted on the cover are in 2 different places. Someone replaced wood and vinyl on cover and just screwed the attachments. So, I'd prefer not guessing and making numerous trips to auto parts store or West Marine. Anything in the ball park would be a good start. I've read on other forums were they've used both 50lb and 80lb shocks,but no one mentioned length. Thanks again. -Cheers
