Default What is realistic WOT. Speed for 33AVS?

Gentlemen I have been told, by a salesman, that a 99 Scarab 33 AVS with stock 454s and 1.50 bravo drives pushing a 24p prop should WOT at 71 and with. A26p prop 77mph. Does this seem realistic to Yall?

Love the 33avs, from what I've heard 33 runs 78/80 with 496ho or 502 mag. 500efi 83
454 mags I would guess 72/74.
That prob size size per mph sounds about right with power to turn it 5100/5200
I'm sure some 33avs guys will chime to be more specific. Altitude plays into it to. 496ho making 425 at sea level isn't gonna make the same power in higher place say like Colorado.
Probably one of the best all around boats for size, speed, handling the rough and trailering.

Never driven a 454 powered 33 AVS but 5050 is probably good with the 72-74 estimate. Having driven most other power combos I can tell you real world speed for 496/502 boats is 76-78 best. 500 boats 80-82.

They are solid riding and handling boat for there size. I run mine in the Atlantic on regular basis, so this is not a "lake guys" opinion.

This boat has closed cooling. We plan on the occasional salt water poker run, or perhaps a trip to Nassau or Catalina Island- but the reality is this boat would spend the vast majority of the time in Austin.

Any comments on the advantages/disadvantages of closed cooling for boat used the way we plan to use it?

Long boat trips from Austin No negatives to closed cooling either way. Better engine management.
