Good point about ti running out of bottom. That being said, with some of the advances in the last 15 yrs since then, might not there be a way to overcome that now, better props, drive spacers, etc... Have often wondered about Arnesons on the 33?

We messed with spacers a little and props but we were only using 4 blade props 5 blade would sure have helped the situation. But at the time we didn't have that option. And we didn't have boxes on the boat the drives were on the transom.

Hi I'm planning to put Sterling build 700 SCi's to my 33 with 850hp, I have some concerns on what drives I need to go but maybe IMCO SC's or then upgrading my XR drives with Teague Platinum uppers. But the main question is the Props, what size you used for the boat you built? Bravos? do you see that cleavers would work? currently I'm estimating that I need to go with 33" or 34" Bravos/Herrigs, but it would sure help to go to right direction if you recall what size props you ended up with.

Thanks Roope

We had speedmaster number V drives. we ran a 17.5 X 29p that worked the best the bullets were I think 3 inches below the bottom but I not sure.

I like that you use "mild" and 1000HP in the same sentence.

Fast foraward from 13 months ago, my 33 a vs runs 85 gps on fumes w 2 people and hp 500efis under perfect conditions, the only mod on engines is turned rev limiters up slightly. Building a efi NA 540 to test 500 efi intake mods on , dynoing it at my shop soon. If i reach my hp goal of 700ish duplicating a 2nd motor to it and putting them in my 33 in the spring.
