I have just bought 30 scarab panther what

I just bought 1989 scarab panther does anybody know any things about these boats are they kevlar.mine is in good shape with twin 454(330) genV1 motors and seems to run about 68 on gps.

Congrats on your Panther.I had a 1988 Panther. You can tell by the keel from what I have been told-it is smooth with out kevlar,and alittle rough if it is kevlar. My 1988 didn't have kevlar and was smooth.Please correct me if I'm wrong. I saw one that had kevlar and it was rough. It was an 1989 with the 425hp(454) with 32 speedmasters.-it did approx. 85mph.

Do you know if yours is kevlar.what motors do you have what kind of mile per hour

I sure don't think mine are kevlar, but I got 454 mags and it does 68 by the speedo. I had it a few months before I even knew there was a "mag" version, and figured all 454's were 330's.

Hey, there was these funny electricical things mounted on the stringers for both motors that had the wires snipped; - two red posts and wires, and one snipped black wire that read "neg". They looked like transformers. Do you gotem too? Maybe surge circuit protectors? OEM Isolators?

Lots more ? where that came from. You sure got a conversation starter. Mine has the production graphics with "Scarab Panther" all over the side, but folks still ask what it is.

Mine did have the same stickers on it I peeled them off but no I do not have them posts.I was out over the weekend and the coupler went out on 1 motor so Im pulling 1 motor this week,come to find out the guy who installed the motors did not grease the shafts. My boat is all white with teal stripe at the top with white,pink,teal stripes inside.If you can put some pictures on I loved to see.

Doh! Does that mean you'll be pulling the second motor soon? That hurts. Neato colors, and different from others I've seen. No can post pics here. My e-mail is b b l m 3 1 7 5 @ e a r t h l i n k . n e t I'll return e-mail you a bunch of panther pics I've been collecting.

Know I dont know the difference.I think the s-type is older but I do not know for sure.
