Water Separating filters 29' Scarab
Any of you folks out there besides me have problems changing the water separating filter on a 29' Scarab with T/350's on the Starboard engine.. Changed mine this weekend an had to pry the guard off and highly modify it to put it back on. Seems as though Mother Wellcraft put a motor mount about 1/8" away from the filter cover which makes it very diffcult to remove the cover in a normal manner. If anyone else has had this problem, was there a solution besides cutting the cover or just leaving it off completely.

Yes, the fuel/water separating filter. I have a 2000 and it sits about 1/8" from the stringer motor mount. I had to force it off and put a dent in the filter when I did. I had to cut the part that fits over the outlet lines on the backside of the plastic to get it back on. I had to stand on my head also, about two hours worth.
