Has anyone ever....
In the process of replacing the engines in my 32 I found the big bulky mufflers just took up too much room. After starting the engines I was taken back by how friggin loud these things are and considered putting the muffs back in. I got to thinking though... What if I were to put a 5" elbow off the back which directed the exhaust below the waterline when idling, then they come out when it gets on plane? Would quiet it down in the marina, but wake up the neighborhood when cruising (which I happen to like) I was looking at an old Carver houseboat that had exhaust like I described so it isn't unheard of... anyone ever seen, done or heard of such thing on a Pachanga? If I still decide it's too loud, I may look into some inline 5" mufflers - I would imagine they flow better than the cans...

Dustin,
Look at this link I posted last year. I also can put mufflers in the tip by leaning over the back of the boat while its on the lift.
When it's in the marina its below the water line and quiet. I still warm it up above the water line for fear of reversion from the cams.
I would do it a little different than this setup, the person before me spent alot of money to have this done. Nice gelcoat work where they glassed over the originals.

PS. dont sell the mufflers like I did, you might want them back and the get premium dollar for those things.
