Chevy / Merlin big block - Best / best capacity block mounted water pump ,

Thinking about going "half" closed loop cooling 50/50 antifreeze/deionized water), to limit sea water corrosion on my 722cu chevy merlin motors.
Anyone got a recommendation for a high capacity block...

Will the merc raw water pump draw water up, or does it have to start primed. Id like to fit an inlet/scoop running up a stainless tube on the outside of the transom and then down,into the engine bay...

upgrate alpha 1 to bravo xr. transom.

Anybody done this change, are the two transom cut outs very different or maybe the same size, any hits guys ?
The existing set up is worn out, and Ive been given a great deal on the bravo set up...

Difficult to get prop center line level with hull boat...
