Thanks Stromrider.

Ginny, pictured in post #768, won't let me do two things - with the Magnum that is! :D One is that she won't let me remove the sun pad in order to install a raised engine...

This 27 Magnum Sport was built in 1972 and has twin 383 Chevrolets and Volvo-Penta DPX-A drives. The DPX drives hook up very well. The boat feels like it rides on rails.

I really like this thread and ever since I was a kid, I've always like the Magnum 27 Sport. For that reason, I bought one a number of years back and restored it . . . still have it, and probably...

Exclamation Re: Tallahassee Area

The end of the canal where the Mashes Sands boat ramp is located has filled with sand from the Dennis and the opening to Ochlocknee Bay is now very narrow. It was narrow before Dennis, but now I...

Re: Tallahassee Area

That's got it. Pretty much anywhere in the 29* 54.000 N / 84*12.000 area will put you right on top of it. You'll see the boats and it's a pretty big area.

Re: Tallahassee Area

Kevin, do have any numbers for 502SCS? I usually just point straight out from Ochlocknee Bay and look for the shallow water about six or so miles out. I can get some numbers later for you from my...

Re: Volvo Penta Drive

No adaptors that I know of for the 17-spline Volvo shaft. Probably because the Volvo AQ shaft is too fat; however, Solas has recently come out with a line of three-blade high-performance props...

Re: found this sweet classic Magnum on ebay

That's the original un-changed factory Volvo-Penta / 351 Ford setup. Nice job!

Re: Tallahassee Area

Kevin, we were over there Monday as well, hosing out the place and adding to mounds of flood junk on the street. Sorry to hear about the cottage at Bald Point. I took the Magnum off of the boat...

Re: Tallahassee Area

I'm here in Tally and Ochlocknee Bay (when it's not under water). We could use another Offshore boat around here. Yours should get the number up to three now! I have the red/white Magnum 27...

Re: Stainless Exhaust Manifolds/Risers

Rex Marine has Kodiak aluminum center-rise marine exhaust (http://www.rexmar.com/page221.html) systems to fit small-block Fords. I'm running a set on my SBF powered 16 Donzi and not only are they...

Re: how will these manifolds flow?

Ask Brownie who built those. They look like 1980's Stainless Marine which were notorious for developing cracks.

Re: Trailer Tires?

I hear that Titan trailer tires (http://www.titanstore.com/store/trailer.html) are good. They make a ST225/75R15 in load range E as well, and Titan tires are made in USA.

Re: Trailer Tires?

No Carlisle radials for me even if they've say that the problem has been fixed. I've also had trouble with two Goodyear Marathons separating on the same trip and leaving the entire tread in the road...
