Re: Jim Clark of Python Boats just passed away! R.I.P Jim

Having bought my first power boat a 1991 Python 24' with 502MAG back in 2001 at age 23. I talked with Jim a lot in the first month or so that I owned the boat. He was a great guy to deal with. He...

Re: 800CFM Quadrajet

Yes I think that they might be "worked over" 750 cfm models. Not sure though because I was just looking at the Edelbrock site and they advertise an 850cfm quadrajet. Also they made a 795cfm for GM...

Re: Last issue before I can finish up the resto and splash...Trim in handle won't trim up

I spray it into the carb while running then "flood" the carb with it so it stalls out the motor. Let it sit then in a WELL ventilated area fire up the engine and watch the smoke.

Re: Last issue before I can finish up the resto and splash...Trim in handle won't trim up

I have had good luck with SeaFoam brand top engine cleaner or go to your local GM dealer and get the GM brand top engine cleaner. Judging by the amount of black soot that comes out the exhaust after...

Re: Last issue before I can finish up the resto and splash...Trim in handle won't trim up

No problem. I was actually replacing my bellows then decided to do the trim switches due to corroded wires. Good idea on bringing the boat in for the bellows replacement I did mine and it was a...

Re: Last issue before I can finish up the resto and splash...Trim in handle won't trim up

Nope I did not use any sealant on mine just the packing gland. You can not get to the bolt from the inside of the engine compartment. I am about 95% sure it is a 9/16" bolt. From inside the boat...

Re: Last issue before I can finish up the resto and splash...Trim in handle won't trim up

Jim with the drive turned all the way to one side you should be able to look up above the drive-shaft bellows. You will see the wires going through the transom. If I was at home I could take a...

Re: Last issue before I can finish up the resto and splash...Trim in handle won't trim up

No problem I had this issue first part of the season which is short here in Maine. If the limit switch is bad the trim button in the handle will allow the drive to go down BUT not up. And yes those...

Re: Last issue before I can finish up the resto and splash...Trim in handle won't trim up

It might not be the trim switch in the handle that is your issue. The trim limit switch on the outdrive could be bad and preventing the trim from working. Try bypassing the limit switch.
