I ordered a new 31 from Ed in March of 1998 and got it at the end of August (Ed gave me a 1999 Serial #) and kept it 5 years and traded it for a 2002 38 Awesome Cat...Huge Mistake.

I had a 31 AO with 750 blower motors and a 1:50 gear and ran 32's. At 3000 was about 72 and at 5800 was 106 if those #'s are any help.

No there was no bluing - just teeth looked broken...

No there was no bluing - just teeth looked broken on cam gear. The chain looked fine and also the lower gear. The wrist pin bushings looked hammered but i figured that was from full throttle...

Just went thru a 540 Big M Dart that had burnt 2 pistons and the double roller chain and the cam gear was missing 16 teeth. I wonder what caused this - was it from not enough oil? Gen 5 & 6...

Water pump impeller is probley bad. Will shut off if it gets too hot. Watch and see if it's putting out water.
