I'll also be intersted to hear how you like your cover. At that price, I might consider one for my 42Ex as well.

Re: Memphis Tenn. Manatee Speed zone...

That was one seriously lost and confused sea cow. We're 400 miles from where he should have been. Very bizarre.

Re: Merc 700 Sci

I will second this. I rode in the silver and red factory 700/NxT 39 TGU (now owned by Andy Smith) from Miami to KW the weekend of the poker run and it ran like a dream for extended periods in 2-3"...

Re: The New One - 2007 Cigarette Top Gun Unlimited - Thanks Cigarette and Pier 57

Andy Smith, Matthew's uncle, bought that silver and red boat from Skip and I rode in it from Miami to KW the weekend of the poker run. It took 2-3" seas at 100 mph like it was nothing. I cannot...

Re: 39OL vs. 39 Top Gun

Nothing happened. Not sure what you're referring to. Andy Smith from Memphis is the owner of the boat. We didn't hit anything except some 2-3 foot swells at 100mph.

Re: 39OL vs. 39 Top Gun

The 2007 Cig 39 Top Gun Unlimited in this picture has 700's and NxT drives. It was Skip Braver's personal boat. A friend of mine bought it from him recently as a demo and I rode in it from Miami to...

Re: Beach your boat on the sand? or no

It totally depends where you are beaching the boat. I was a little nervous about doing it the first time, but as long as you know the beach and pay attention to what you are doing, I don't think it...

Would a 42 be faster with only aft tanks full?

I have a 42 Ex and usually only fill up the larger forward tanks, keeping only 20 gallons or so in the rear tanks to use as a "reserve", but I wonder if the boat would carry the bow higher and thus...

Re: Airing out my 42 Ex at the Emerald Coast PR

Exactly. This is why we weren't wearing PFD's in the pictures. The water at the mouth of the East Pass going out into the gulf was pretty rough that day from all the boats going through, but it...

Re: Destin Florida Hotel & Marina combos

This is exactly the problem I just got through dealing with down there and there aren't a lot of good options. Baytowne Marina in Sandestin is one place, though. They have a nice marina on the...

Re: Sea strainer question

Thanks for the info. BTW, how do you "back flush" the strainer, and how do you know when to do it? Is this done using the fresh water flush attachment?

I have an 06 42 Executioner with 525's and the factory (single) sea strainer. I was in FL recently and ran the boat in some very shallow water and was concerned it could have sucked up some sand. ...

My 06 42 Executioner also did not come with a ladder. I purchased a rope ladder from West Marine with the idea of hanging it off one of the cleats on either side of the swim platform, but this is...

Re: Thoughts on a 2005 47 with trip 525s?

Hey Driven,

To answer your question from earlier in the thread, yes, Matthew's boat is as clean as it looks. Scott and I were on it at the Key West to Islamorada Poker Run in February. The boat...

Re: Thoughts on a 2005 47 with trip 525s?

I know Matthew well and have been on this boat. It runs great, is very comfortable and roomy, and handles the rough stuff amazingly well. He definitely has it priced right. In fact, it makes me...
