That seems to be the right stuff for my sealing problem, assuming I can get the cover mounted quickly enough.
It looks like Motorcraft's TA31 sealant has a similar consistency...

Yes good lubrication was the trick.

Next time I will reuse the old load ring considering it as a solid shim, provided that the designed preload can be achieved. Joee

Max. moment of thread friction lies in the vicinity of 200 ft lbs

Yes the old ring is crushed to 0,197 inch, but this should be normal after installation.

New ring height is 0,295 inch and it should be...
