Pull a valve cover and check seat pressure. See where you're at before going overboard chances are your springs are in perfect shape. Im sure you have VERY good valve springs in your engine....

A tight lsa will increase cranking pressure which is like adding compression in the engine, also lowers powerband with bigger cams.

Im sure you have a mile of clearance but it will tighten up...

I think the big duration made your airflow "lazy" with big ports/low rpm. A smaller cam would pick up port speed.. Which would translate into HP and torque.
