I plan on staying staying with the stock L31 compression - somewhere around 9.1:1 to 9.4:1 (depending on where you read it). It would be nice to be able to run on regular pump gas.

Crane makes a spring/retainer/lock set that will give more lift without having to machine the heads. For now, I will probably go with 1.5 rockers.

I will be running the stock thru-prop exhaust, so one of my concerns is/was reversion. However, looking at the LT4 cams specs, it is not much different to the Comp Cams...
