I don't know. The boat I'm getting ready to purchase is a 1999 Baja 272 w/HP500. I don't know exactly how many hours it has (it was used, probably not low hours), but it was freshened about 100...

I had asked a similiar question. The answer I got was after the initial valve spring/valve job, these motors are good to go for quite awhile, afterwards...assuming proper maintenence etc. Good luck!
