Also the 7.4 is only rated for 4600 rpm. If he's turning 4800 with a heavy load then he needs to go up in pitch. Might pic up some speed also.

Just a guess but I would think that boat should run 55 - 58. Check speed with a GPS, speedo's can be way off (high or low). If the boat has a transom shower then it probably has a switch on the...
