The pics are kind've deceiving....For example, the last time this lake was near this high was in 05. By 09 is was nearly dry due to a few very bad years regarding rain fall and the fact...

These photos show the "gully" just east of the Heritage launch ramp...From dry to over flowing.... Where once there was a cliff to the water, then no water at all...The water level rose to the point...

And the Ramp in April of 2010...They actually had...

And the Ramp in April of 2010...They actually had to close the ramp because the water was too high, causing the ramp to be too shallow to launch (not enough grade angle)

Like Uncle Dave said Lake Nacimeinto which is located just west of Paso Robles (where the Ca. Mid State fair is held) and about a 3 1/2 hour drive north of L.A. is actually something of a freak lake....
