I was incorrect in quoting speeds for the 42 OL at national. Try 875 Sterlings, 116 MPH. The boat will be featured in the upcoming month's powerboat performance trials.

That is a 47. Frank sold his 42 several years ago. Unfortunately Mike doesn't build the engines. I think we all can agree that when you run 1400 HP motors, you can expect a few problems...

What are you saying? The OL is a full cabin staggered boat, the Apache is not. You can not discount the hull efficiency. The numbers don't lie.

I'm not quite sure on the weight. I may be off by a few mph. I think the 42 w/ 800's is around 96, I ran one this summer w/ merc 900's and #6's at 106. Seriously.

I agree, taking Outerlimits out of this conversation, (because there is no comparison) a perfect example would be the 38 top gun. The 38 TS stepped boat is 1000 times the boat that it's non stepped...
