and I probably have one of the fastest 280's with a basically stock 502, I have had the boat up to 69.5 but lately it runs around 68 gps. i think from the factory it was a 65-66 mph boat correct?

no my drive is about 5 1/2" with the spacer, I didnt have the drive perfectly level when I measured though.

anyway looks like the boat is sold, hopefully be gone by the weekend, gonna miss it...

i think your wasting your time on the shorty, i dont know how my 280 picked up couple mph with a 1" spacer and yours would pick up 3-5 mph with a 2" shorty, doesnt make sense, i doubt PQ made the X...

mine wasnt perfectly level so I may be closer to 5.5", it was about 30 degress out so I didnt spend too much time out there.

i just went and measured mine, best I can tell it's 4.5" from btm to cl of prop shaft, keep in mine I have a 1" spacer.

my 2000 w/502 has a 1" spacer, the previous owner put it in and picked up a couple mph, I think he was blowing out all the time also. sounds like they went too aggressive on some of the X dimensions
