Cool fuel 502mpi's will still vapor lock. Mine are 2000's. They vapor lock rather easily with E10 fuel, but rarely with non ethanol fuel.

The E10 fuel is most of the problem. My engines will vapor lock very easily with E10. Since I stopped runninng E10 fuel several years ago, one engine has maybe vaporlocked twice over the last 3-4...
