good point

I tried honing the housing out to clear up the passages, it becomes like cement, I should have replaced them but figured it ran well withouth the therms so..

5 TIMES? :eek: :eek: ...

Gripit just an fyi, I replaced the thermostats twice in mine (89 454mags), new impellors and my risers were ok. I never resolved the problem other than removal.

:D Ya just kidding, it just sounds like something I would have posted a few years ago with my 311, therms were out and I replaced - bingo ran too hot.

because the long term effects of salt water have decreased the flow so with the thermostat in it was over heating - took therm out and ran OK. So, hows my old boat treating you?
