Want to put a chain-fall hoist in my garage.... suggestions as to how?

I took a couple of 2 x 8's, screwed them together and ran them across 4 joists. The chain fall is attached to the 2 x 8's with a piece of steel cable. It lifts a fully dressed big block no problem....
