70gps seems low,,I dont own a 340 but others that have posted doing 76-78 gps with 496hos 4950 rpm is at the higher end of the RPM band,maybe 28s

I think it would be best to take boat out and run it in all types of water and see how it handles,
340s are great roomy boats for their size,not sure about running it in the 90s,,good luck and let...
