With a diesel if you run close to the rpm limit...

With a diesel if you run close to the rpm limit its not using all the HP the engine makes. That's most likely why it don't slow up much with the extra weight.

Just used the bam marine calculator for a 9000...

Just used the bam marine calculator for a 9000 boat with good bottom 500hp at each prop should run 83mph. Now at 10500 with same power 77mph. Just for reference. So 6 mph not sow bad.
