the article posted is for the newer style carburetors,their controlled by the ignition module and are choke less or at least the 2 barrel version is..

so you installed a Holley on your boat now...

your way too far out on the idle mixture screws,,1/2 to 1 turn max..your stumble could be several reasons..first try to set the idle mixture correctly,start at 3/4 turn and turn the screws vary...
