i had a ford f 350 that did that with 20,000 miles on it.... one piston had the rings installed upside down from the factory....

sure.. but thats the same as about 40 hours... give or take...and is essentially normal.

sounds like a lot to me... i would wonder if its running rich which will do a couple of things.... fuel dilute the oil and make it thin enough to diasappear and make the rings lose their seal.......
