Is it possible I don't have an AGI box? I'm not seeing it. I see a grey wire labeled "tach" in the engire comp, but it doesn't look like it goes to a box. The guage is a mercury guage.

No, I have a regular tach AND a smartcraft sc 1000 guage which show rpms, water temp, pressure, oil temp, pressure, etc. Smartcraft is acting normal, the tach is not. Tomorrow, I'm going to check...

2005 525efi, running on hose, idling just fine. The tach is saying anywhere between 2-3000 rpms. Smartcraft is reading normal 700-750 rpms.

What should I check, main ground on block? connections...
