I called Brodix and talked to them about my application, They explained that is would be a special order and had me order through Tony. Tony's making sure I get the right hardware.

I wish I could run a mechanical but the motors i have don't have a provision for a pump (mk VI). stupid chevy :)

The block is getting sleeved as we speak. I'm going to stick with the flat pistons and get 119cc heads and a single plane intake. I never much cared for sleeves but my motor guy says it will be...

oops, the gasket is 17048. I'm definitely buying new heads and intake, I'm just trying to figure out what to get. I'm leaning towards the brodix topend kit from summit.

actually, it's 4.53 bore. maybe that contributed to the failure?

yep, that's the casting number on these heads. I just pulled the pistons out, they are srp with -3cc dish. That puts the compression somewhere around 10.4... I am thinking about getting a brodix...

I didn't build these motors, I just bought the boat last fall with these motors already in it. If I knew then what I know now, I would have walked...

Laz, Thanks for all the info, I'm sure it will save me money and grief! I'll be plumbing a water pressure sensor in the block like you mentioned. What gauge do you use?

it uses a holley red pump, 6an lines all the way from the tank, through the pump, filter, to the carb. It has 5psi at idle and at cruise, I haven't been able to check at wot as the gauge is at the...

it is just shy of 10:1 with felpro 1037 head gaskets. I run 93 octane from a nearby exxon station. The 'expert' that built it said I was ok with up to 34 degrees... Looks like I was told wrong! ...

This is the second time this motor has burned a piston. It had the same symptoms both times, and I think it was the same cylinder. I had it running rich, and 30 degrees timing. It never got over...
