That puple wire should be switched power to the alarm. The other wire(s) from the alarm will go whatever corresponding sending unit. Go to the library and get a 1992 Mercruiser service manual. It...

purple on mine is 12v switched; goes from the alternator to the ign. swtch to all the guages
Any Merc. manual will have the general diagram. The buzzers and alarms you'll have to trace.
