We chose the 625 because we only needed that HP for the class....we will be going with the 725's and INDY drive package on our next project that is in the works....we just needed to run a boat with the Coast Guard this year till the new project is done....

We did not want to run the small block in racing....it would either have been the Merc 525 or the ILMOR...we have been talking and looking at ILMOR since the end of 2008...and I have been very impressed with the team at IMLOR, they have been great to work with and there product has been proven in the P1 class. I'm looking foward to our next project with them,

There engine is over 200lbs lighter then the 525 and with the ILMOR/INDY package its is the same weight as the Merc 525/XR package.

What speed are you expecting?? The 30 is equally as fast as the 29 kryptonite, which is really a 27'. Should put you around 90?? Awesome boat!

We had it set for the ILMOR 650 and INDY drive package but as you can see there is no room for the tranny in there....so choise to just go with the 625 to race it this year....and then go all out on the next project....

I think ILMOR has a great engine that will fit right in from Class 5 threw Class 1 and also spec racing with the classes opening the door to them.....

I think with more then one engine builder like Merc for the 550 to 750 hp ranges will be better for our sport....we have some engine builders also in the OPA Series like Crocket, Corbra ect. and I think Ilmor will fit in great in the racing in the U.S. and the performance boating community which as we all have seen has been taking off over the years...

We ran the 27 Activator in F1 in 2003 and 2004, with the Mercury Racing 525/XR sportmaster....we ran 83+
along with the Kryptonite, Volocity, Y2K Superboat, Warlock ect.
Today the same F1 boats are runnging in Class 5 which is a cap at 75 mph the smallest engine in the class is a Merc 525 which is around 560 HP....most teams in Class 5 are running between 600 and 650+ hp and are propping down for acceleration, we will be removing the Imco shortie and putting on a standard Sportmaster on for races...we will be doing some things with the Coast Guard outside of Offshore Racing that we will be putting on the Imco ....we will be trying to get the boat to go over 100 for the C.G. events....
