I f you wait till the last minute, you along with the others that think "it's just a little storm". Maybe in for a big surprise.
Keep in mind those that are leaving now. will get the hotel rooms that are 200 miles away. the longer you wait the further you will have to drive, with wife and kids. Keep in mind people are filling up thier cars with gas, and stations will not be recieving more tilll the all clear signal.
and you sure as hell dont wont to hear " I told you so" from anyone! Good luck!

I got enough fuel in the truck to get us 500 miles if need be. Already asked my wife where she would like to take a trip to this weekend...
She thought I was kidding.
All I can do is rely on the information the professionals are forecasting . So far winds predicted with gusts up to 70 to 100.
I am not sure exactly what is going to take to tell me it's time to roll, but I certainly know enough back roads to get through to the other side of Jersey and will not choose to sit on the major roadways.
I can't leave until all is finished here anyway...
On top of that, my day job has already told me before I left today to keep my company ID on me should they need to call me in I will be allowed to be on the roads to get to work.

The wife is digging in.
She doesn't want to budge...
Off to the store for more supplies.
All loose items are now brought in. I need to go over to my neighbors as well and see what I can tie down over there. It's a summer home but yet I haven't seen him here in a while. If he doesn't show up by tomorrow, he is going to find some stuff rearranged by me! I don't need his chairs or grill coming through my windows....

[QUOTE=LaughingCat;3489016]If you are in an evacuation zone, leave. It a terrible feeling when you realize the storm is getting fierce and you have no outs.
I live 1500 ft on the other side of the evacuation zone so I should be fine.
