I live 1500 ft on the other side of the evacuation zone so I should be fine.
Guys I have the secrete headquarters available if anyone needs it. Don't take a chance if you don't have to, plus we can have a hurricane party then.... 1-732-921-3355 cell

Just in from Harbor Freight, Home Depot & Target' .

I bought up the only lights left in Harbor Freight. LED Motion Activated lights that works off of two AA batteries. I strategically laid them out through out the house so there will always be a path of light. I hope not to need them, but it sure is nice to know they will be there.

Target had some cool battery operated LED candles as well.

Those ended up in the bedroom ....

I bought another 5 gallon water cooler. Probably will fill that and leave it in the over size freezer.

Parkway south bound was already closed to traffic tonight.
My wife was able to get some stuff at the food store so hopefully we should be good with that.

I have 9 Streamlight LED rechargable flashlights charging. Its nice to have a tool truck in the driveway.Tim I grew up right were you live you should be fine, old trees are going to be your biggest problem if the winds get nasty.Make shure you have a 5 gallon pail to use pool water to flush the toilets if need be and throw some shock in your pool tommorow incase you can't run it for a few days.

The citizens in areas with no electricity are going to need more cash money than they perhaps think, you can not pay by credit cards without electricity. Perhaps the northerns are not used to think of that, dont know.

Going through Katrina I learned a valuable lesson. Take these Storms seriously...take your loved ones and animals..and leave as early as possible so it doesnt take you 6 hours to go when you could have done it in one. Move what ever you can that is of value and not replaceable..like wedding pictures, dress, china, and items that you want to pass down..box them up and put them on the top floor. I know its a PITA, but if you dont, they will be damaged or gone. Cars, boats, bikes, are material things and can be replaced.. When you come back, realize that you might see things that you are not accustomed to..(death) and if you have children, sheild them if possible, they dont need to see these things either..it will stick in their mind, as it has mine. Ya'll take care, and if anyone needs a vacation, or a place to stay till things calm down, we can house comfortably about 30 people. Jeff Jassby 228-216-0900 cell.

We survived Hurricane Charley, a cat-4 with recorded
winds of 187 here in Punta Gorda. It was supposed to give
us glancing blow, as it passed by. It turned and was on us
before anyone could get out. Wiped out our town. No
electricity for 17 days, no water for 14 days. 50% of
homes severly damaged or destroyed. Out of 16 schools in
our district, 7 destroyed, another 5 severly damaged.
Entire communities layed to waste. Virtually every traffic
light was down.

Get out while you can. Stuff can be replaced, lives can not.
