What size Sunsation? You're running 13% slip with the bravo, 16% with the Mirage. That seems a little high for a twin engine boat. Are you both using a gps or just reading a speedometer.

I'm surprised that's all the Sunsation runs with two big blocks. I guess 385hp in those 454's isn't an aweful lot though. I'm assuming he runs a little more efficient becasue of the stepped bottom. Unless your motors are a little tired? You would think you'd be faster with almost 130 more hp. Is your boat alot heavier as well? Maybe your bottom has a hook in it?

My old 1999, 32 Thunder had 28 Bravo's on it and would turn 5100rpm and top speed 81mph, this boat did have a notched transom. You might want too turn the props in and see how it works, a buddy did that and got 2mph. easy try....

My guess is the 454 mpi's are 310 HP (7.4 mpi's), not 454 mags with 385 hp. Plus the Sunsation noted does not have a stepped hull. They have those notches just to the first chine, they do not extend the width of the hull.

My 2000 dominator runs 76 GPs all day long on a muggy day in July at LOTO with 454 mags. It runs close to 80 on a perfect day when it is cool, the chop is perfect, little gas and just me. But that is not your every day boating. It was tested by PB in salt water and they recorded 80 on GPS. If this boat has 454 mags and is only running 69 something is wrong with it....
