Default mefi tuning finally available to everyone-CHEAP

I search E-bay daily for mefi stuff, first time I ran acrossed this. Last year AZSM nade mefi tuning available to everyone but it was 1600$ a pop and would only do one ECM. With this set-up and the pro version it looks like anyone (with basic computer tuning skills) will be able to tune their mefi system without buying a exspensive bootleg copy or going to the few shops that have bought a illegal bootleg copy snuck out mercs back door or are priveleged enough to have it. Has anyone else seen this or used it yet,Smitty

Great find. Are you going to try it?

It's about time this hit the public domain. If I ever get my MPI stuff from the guy I bought it from, I'd try it.

I wonder what the difference between the standard and pro versions are. What are the "extended parameters"?

I looked into tunercat a couple of years ago and was under the impression that it wasn't useable on the marine ecm's. This one appears to be using tunerpro, www.tunerpro.net . I am wondering if they have built specific applications for the mefi or if it is generic. Tunerpro is free with a donation if you want to. The cables are available from a couple of places that are linked from their website. My biggest concern is screwing things up if I am using software like this.

a bit expensive but looks ok to me if just as a data recorder. bought one and will advise. smitty... we talked a while back about coatings and you said when you had your motor apart you would make a decision on whether or not you felt they were worth it.... anything on that ?

Wonder if you can adjust the rev limiter?

The product description for the "standard" model says you can reprogram the fuel and spark curves, etc... I sent an email to the distributor asking them to define "etc..." Also, their liturature says that it supports MEFI 4 and up but says "BETA" for MEFI 1,2&3. Maybe a stupid question but what does BETA mean???? I also asked this in my email. I will share their answers....if they answer.

In computer terms BETA is still under development. In other words, it can have bugs.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Here is what the auction says now:

"The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."
