Default Fountain boat tests

On the Fountain website they have a video feature you can click on you can see tests of their boats. The 42'er for example had twin 575's in the test video. Now the text Reggie has there is like consistently 10-15mph more than the videos that boatest.com reports. That looks really bad when you make a claim and then a boat test on your website refutes it. Man I don't know about how anybody can run a company like that. You can't talk out of both sides off your mouth. Check out the website and see what I am talking about! Reggie says a 42'er can run 88mph with twin 525's and the boat test says they hit 84 with twin 575's...it just is stupid to say that when the video shows you are way off base....carzy or what?

Default It must sell boats...

The website says my boat will run "over 70"
If any one has a 27 496ho running 70 on gps let me know. 67 gps is the best I have seen.
One of the mags just tested a stag 525 38 at 87. Dont think a 42 would be faster. JC

I know it is not Fountains fault, but I was reading the test last night on the 35' with 575's. I believe it was PB mag but I had a stack of mags I was going through so it could have been HB Mag.

When you look at the stats at the end of the test it states that the boat had "550 hp Merc 575's". In reality they were 575's with aftermarket intercoolers that were making about 100 more hp a side.

If you were to just look at the bottom line, and not read the entire article it would be misleading.

Did I miss something? I see 86 on 42 575 text list. I watched the video and boat test graphics shows 84.4. Hang him out to dry for 1.6mph?? Maybe Mr. BoatTest.com didn't have 'er trimmed well!

I don't know what to tell you my 1995 27 ran 66+ consistantly on the GPS with a 454 mag with 390 hours on it. That was with 2 people usually and 30-40 gallons of fuel and a little chop. We could see 62-63 with a full tank and flat water. You have 40+ hp and probably more so I am not sure why your performance is so poor. I was running a Mach I prop LH rotation 24 pitch I believe if that helps.

You know I did get a college degree, can you please show me where he states that? This is all I can find on the web page. I don't see a claim for those higher speeds, can you please post the link to the page you are talking about?

In watching the boattest video it states things like:

...engine comparment is ione of the most well prepared I have ever seen....

...we saw an eye watering 88 MPH at 5250 RPMS....(this is in direct contrast to what you state they say ie 84)

I believe that is faster than the 86+ which is posted on the fountain website

I find your information lacking and your credibility in question.

And before you ask... I own a Cig.
