Default 32 Skater w/triple 280's, what's it worth...

1990 Skater w/ triple 280's, new center, strong port & stb, Mazcos, new ECM's as of next week, trying to make it to the Lake Cumberland Poker Run, you'll see it, it's obvious. etc.. Hull's a little rough, good trailer.

Or maybe someone knows some history, like how long it was under water and where.

Thats a tough question when you bring up the boat has been under water and dont know how long!! I would pay for a marine survey to get started, then check the classifieds for some comps. That said i would say 50-70K

Yeah I was thinking about 65-68 post completion. I have a surveyor available and have thought about having it surveyed b4 the weekend, but I guess I'm not that concerned about it's overall worth. I'm just kinda curious to find out if the owners investment + my expense is going to even out or take the value into the black or red.

Just an FYI, the motors shown in the pics, are not 280's. Those are 260's which are worth less money to most and less desirable on a boat like this where you tend to have additional accessories (big stereos and such). The 280's have different electronics and have alternators.

Also appears that it's got 2 hole CLE's rather than Sportmasters...also less desirable and a little weaker than the sporty's.

My Personal experience with owning offshore boats for the past 20yrs. What ever money you put into it you can KISS IT GOODBY!!!
Prime example: my current boat is a 1999 28 Skater, purchased price was 85K in 2004..
The boat had 2.5`s 280 hp. Ran them for 150 hrs blew the motors.I had 2 new Diamond marine 2.5`s 330hp and all new rigging 35K.
Then had some bad gas and blew the motors ! Then I sent the boat to Skater for a tank re-fit for Eathanol, service + shipping 8k.
Then back down to Diamond to be completely re - rigged again and installed 2 new 300xs for 57K.
So lets sum it up over 5.5 years.85k+35K+8K+57K=185K
Do You think I can sell My 28 Skater for 185K ?? If so, come down and Ill even throw in a New Dually!!
Did not even mention gas or insurance...
Was it worth it HELL YES !!! Will I regain all the $$$$$ spent HELL NO!!!!!!
