Why does the Skater Boats need the Gas Tank Repaired?

I had noticed a lot of Skaters always need the Gas Tanks Repaired/Replaced. Why is that?

Not just Skaters, Any boat with fiberglass tanks. Not just high performance boats. Some Tiara, Yellowfinn, Bertrams, Motions,..ect.ect. Also boats with aluminum tanks are subjected to corrosion( all other boats that dont have fiberglass tanks).
Tanks are re- built with newer Ethanol resistant resin/fiberglass.
Sign of the times that will in one way or another affect all boaters that burn gasoline.

Good question! I always wondered that too...

Makes sense about fiberglass tanks. Is it a major undertaking and what's involved. I assume Skater is best suited to handle this? Also, how long before the tanks need to be upgraded?

Why don't marinas sell ethonal-free gas? I don't have trouble finding it for my car and it runs so much better!

It depends on where you live. Here in florida it is almost impossible to find non-ethanol fuel. Thanks again to the liberals and our wonderful government.

Dunno what you guys use but with the gas over here containing around 15 % ethanol we have no issues with the Glass tanks So donīt blame the Ethanol...itīs something else like Toluen that kills your tanks.
Same goes with engines. Ethanol burns cleaner and you lose some power but thatīs it and you donīt freeze up when it gets cold.
