The Skater Vee's dont either?? Skater calls their 46 with a 4ft extension a 50! Everyone is doing the transom extension thing these days. The Outerlimits extension has a purpose as well besides looks as I'm sure Peter has done some testing with his too. It's more aerodynamic and actually aids in some rough water running stability. It's like having higher trim tabs. It has also been comfirmed that the 488 is the 46 Cigarette hull.

Cig actually did came close and had plenty of power to do so but did not make it due to the problem with re-entering the water @ over 170. At those speeds there was no more hull left in the water, just the lower 30% or so of the Props and the skegs.

JT said it was "like balancing a bowling ball on a knife", which meant(as I understand it) the sharp keel at the transom was the problem, unlike the Fountain which had a pad bottom to run flat on.

Braver says if he wants a boat built with Epoxy/Kevlar/Carbon he lets Skater build it. Peter built the Kilo boat. Cigarette uses conventional materials which means heavier boats. Hell I'm not even sure they vacuum bag.

That's going to be one sweet boat for sure!
Is it going to be a Cig or Skater? If its a Skater, why would Pefer use use the Cig bottom instead of his own design....?
Thought Skater never copies/uses other manufactures design and innovates not imitates......

The 46' straight bottom mold was sent to Skater to have the stepps put in the mold.

it has 2 big steps and 1 very small step between the last step and the transom.
