A 28' in the $70k-$80k should be not only be turnkey, but issue free and very nice as well.

I know that 32 is on here and did not want to be the first to say that . The problem I have buying a used OB boat is more likely engines are going to come apart soon after you buy one . I would prefer to buy one without power cheap rather that pay all the money and have it come apart and then your upside down . Just my logic

You're not really comparing apples to apples. Sure you can pick up a 40 for $70k-$80k, but not with power or without needing serious work and significant money being dumped into it. That 32 with the ugly paint and interior that sold for $28k was far from nice or turnkey, very rough at best. That boat has been somewhat cleaned up and listed on ebay and here for sometime now for $56k to $70k... and still has issues and is unsold.
A 28' in the $70k-$80k should be not only be turnkey, but issue free and very nice as well.

A clean 28 Skater with good tanks and stock engines well maintained is still your best bang for the buck. You can afford to play and bolt a new horse on back if one kicks the bucket.
You have to compare apples here also with stock vs. Refitted and tweaked engines.
