Default 2000 skater 36 hatch rubber?

What is the proper rubber used around the engine hatch. I don't believe what I removed fromthe hatch is correct. This is the rubber seal that goes around the engine compartment and the hatch cover seal too.

It is the rubber that seals the engine compartment from excessive water. Anybody?

I am having the same issue the existing foam rubber disintegrated

I am looking at a number of different rubber strips that mccmaster Carr has to offer. The problem is they offer 40 different rubber
Materials.

On my 2001 32 i used mcmaster carr P/N 8694K96 weather-and-fire-retardant foam, adhesive-back, 1/2"thick, 1-1/2"w, 25' length. Was identical to oem foam, compresses to perfect thickness after hatches are shut for a day.

What i had on mine was a foam also about 1 inch wide and 3/4 inch thich with glue on one side. Is this what they used? I was hoping it was something different than that. The foam is very soft and compresses to much causing the hatch actuators to sometime bind because they are closing to far and locking up.

I think I would prefer a medium density rubber. The foam is a glue mess from the heat and sun stock.
