LAriverratt, What happened to your motor? I am also having issues. It looks like both have been affected. I have a new powerhead installed. Scoped the "good" one and doesn't look too good! Sent photos of the scope to my dealer this weekend. We will see.

hard to say. Its still on the boat. Have not taken I off yet. after inspecting it myself I may have found the issue though. DIRT DOBBERS!!!! dirt ring on top of the nass cowl about 1 or 2" from the intake! if that fell off while running it would have went right down the intake! it was the lowest cylinder that I lost too. I have cowl covers but the only fit the stock cowls! cheap insurance...I will get some for sure!!!!

Sorry about the Dirt Dobbers, I put yellow foam wash sponges (4) in my Nass cowls when stored , washing, and also for towing to keep dirt out.

Mud dobbers same thing. Kind of like a yellow jacket but they take dirt/mud and make their nests. Known to block lots of opening. Really bad on airplanes blocking crucial instrument openings.

All the more reason for someone to buy my 308 with custom dirt dauber resistant Sunbrella motor covers.

well I do keep the openings blocked/ stuffed with some thick wipe down clothes (they are blue LOL) but I guess the little bastArds found a way in. anyone want a set of 300xs stock cowl covers with skater logo??? I will part with them for 17K each or a real steel...30K for the set

here is what a dirt dauber ( excuse my original spelling) looks like and the nest they make
