There were a few.
Biggest question is what engine package? The twin BBC are absolutely impossible to do maintenance on. The twin SBC are almost impossible. The very singles are big and obviously slower, but much easier for maintenance. I think I have only seen one single 28 Sonic.

no room to do any work. I believe in order to change the sparkplugs he had to pull an engine.
the hulls run just like the 26's... Lots of porpousing. He had to use lots of tab.
the 31's are better running hulls and have more cockpit and engine bay room. the cabins are the same size.

I had a 28Ss before I got my 31SS.
1. With twin SBCs my 28SS did need the tabs on 2.
2. Fuel economy was 13.5 GPH @ 3200 (40MPH).
3. The cabin is smaller than the 31SS.
4. Top speed on a good day was 62 to 65 ( not too stable)
It was a great boat, but the 31SS is night and day better!
