And when you want to buy a car do you just go to Walmart and stand in the parking lot waiting to make a deal on any car in the lot? Good luck with your owner financing, I am sure there is someone on here that would love to give you a $100,000 boat for $10,000 dawn and hold there breath for the payment. But wait if you dont pay then they get it back right? Beat to crap worth about a third of what it was when they gave it to the guy with the outstanding credit. LOL

Can anyone give me an idea of the kind of speed I could expect with the right prop on a 97, 27' Fever with a 500HP EFI motor?

Usually you know what type/brand of boat you want and go after it. The wide range of choices is really weird. All good boats but completely different. And now questions about a boat not in the size range originally asked about. Quit wasting my time. I actually made some serious inquiries on your behalf with a real owner who is willing to listen and help.

It's a creative idea, I'm interested to see if it works. The range of boats may relate to broadening the number of interested owners. I actually have a guy at work that wants me to do a similar deal for him. I figure if you don't have the credit (I'm sure you need to be north of 700) for a normal loan, then it would be a very high risk to hold the loan. I also had a divorce screw up my credit for a while, it happens, But I would be leary. My friend at work actually told me if it was a choice between paying for fuel or the payment he would choose the fuel! Guess that explains his credit. At his age I had a house, 5 cars, a $100K boat, and snowmobiles. Its all about how you manage your money. I may still have to work when I'm 110, but I'll have nice stuff!

Just save your pennies, or beer cans, and pay cash for a 386 like I did

Damn there are a few hard asses here! I'm not knocking the guy. The 1st big spread I bought(land and house) had to be owner financed! LOL...I'm sure the F'r was hoping I couldn't make the payments. Owned the place 6 years and sold to a developer for a tiddy bit into the 6 figure profit range. Had ta sell cause of a divorce....couldda done better. Sold the 1st day it was listed.
